Tourist guide - Lastovo

Lastovo - Coat of Arms Lastovo is one of the most hidden and most interesting islands and archipelagos in the Adriatic and is located on the southern Croatian coast in Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Lastovo archipelago consists of 46 islands with a population of 792 inhabitants and has a total area of about 53 square kilometers. The largest island of the archipelago, as well as the largest town, is called Lastovo. The coast of Lastovo is mainly steep and the island itself is full of hills, of which the highest Hum is 417 m above sea level. The surrounding seawaters are very deep and underwater life is the richest in the entire Adriatic coast. Here you can find lobsters, crabs, octopuses and many highly prized fishes, such as grouper. On the south coast of the island is a large, deep cove Skrivena Luka that provides protection from the wind and westerly winds. The other main port is located on the west side of the island in Ubli where is the main ferry port on the island. Despite the wildfires around 60% of Lastovo is covered with forests of holm oak, Aleppo pine, and the Mediterranean underbrush. Climate has all the characteristics of the Mediterranean climate, with mild, wet winters and warm, long and dry summers. The island receives about 2700 hours of sunshine a year, making it among one of the sunniest places in the Adriatic and pleasant destination for all tourists who want to relax in the sun, nature, peace, quiet and clean water. Like many Mediterranean islands, the Lastovo economy is based around agriculture and tourism. The island has become very attractive for tourists partly because it largely remained undeveloped with preserved nature. Book an apartment in private family accommodation and discover this hidden gem of the Adriatic sea. Private accommodation on the island of Lastovo. Welcome!
