Plavo lake
Plavo lake or Modro lake (Blue lake) is considered as one of the most beautiful karst lakes in this part of Europe. Plavo lake is located near the city of Imotski, not far from the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The depth of water depends on the season, and it can range from 0 meters when the lake dries up to a depth of 105 meters. When the lake dries at the bottom of the lake the locals play football. Crveno lake
World phenomenon Crveno lake (Red lake) is a karst sinkhole or a karst lake near the city of Imotski. Crveno lake is known for its extremely steep cliffs that surround it, reaching more than 240 meters above water level. The total depth of the lake is 528 meters, while the deepest point of the lake is 6 meters below sea level. The lake was named after the reddish color of the cliffs, which are rich in iron oxides. Crveno lake is also known for its numerous caves. Because of the steep cliffs, it is impossible to access the lake without accompaniment by expert personnel.
