National park Plitvice lakes

Nature park Velebit
The impressive Velebit mountain is the longest and largest mountain in Croatia, rich in flora and fauna, so it is no wonder that it has 2 national parks - national park Northern Velebit and national park Paklenica. Velebit mountain extends 150 kilometers from Senj (north) to Zrmanja river (south). The highest peak of Velebit is 1,757 meters high Vaganski vrh, which is part of Paklenica national park. One of the most attractive caves in Croatia, Cerovac caves are located on the slopes of Velebit mountain in Lika near Gračac. Underground canals and passages of Cerovac caves are about 7 kilometers long, making them the largest underground cave system in Croatia. Rastoke
Rastoke is a small charming village located on Slunjčica river, close to Plitvice lakes. Rastoke is especially impressive in the spring when the village is colored by water, waterfalls, and greenery that provide an indescribable experience. Over travertine rocks, lakes and waterfalls, Slunjčica river flows into Korana river. Although most of the buildings in Rastoke were built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the first mill was built in the 17th century. Bear refuge Kuterevo
Kuterevo is a picturesque village in Lika, situated in a wooded valley on the slopes of Velebit mountain. Although the village is very small, Kuterevo is known for the bear refuge Kutarevo which was established in 2002. Bear refuge Kuterevo provides shelter for bears, especially for bear cubs that have been left behind or that have lost their parents.
