Baćina lakes are located in the hinterland of the town of Ploče, next to the small village Baćina, northwest of the mouth of Neretva river. Baćina lakes are beautiful, connected freshwater karst lakes with emerald green color. Six lakes are connected by canals, while one lake is separated. The lakes are Oćuša, Podgora, Crniševo, Vrbnik, Sladinac, Šipak and Plitko lake, of which Oćuša has the largest surface while the deepest lake is Crniševo (up to 34 meters deep). The temperature of water in the lakes is on average about 3 °C higher than the temperature of water in the sea, therefore, the conditions are ideal for swimming and boat trips. Because they are rich in fish, many fishermen visit the lakes. There are several bars and restaurants along the lake. Baćina lakes are ideal for relaxing and escaping large crowds, even during the summer months.
