The Lim channel
Lim channel (also Lim bay or Lim fjord) is a bay just over 10 kilometers long, located in the western part of Istria, between Rovinj and Vrsar. The Lim channel is extremely popular for its enchanting nature. The water in the Lim channel is a mixture of saltwater and freshwater from the Pazinčica river, and it is ideal for growing shellfish and fish. The channel is sheltered by hills more than 100 meters high. In some parts, the channel is up to 30 meters deep and 60 meters wide. Church of St. Euphemia
The symbol of the city of Rovinj, the church of St. Euphemia is situated on the top of a hill in the old town. At the site of today's St. Euphemia's church was a small church of St. George, originally built in the 7th century. Because of the many pilgrims who came to see the sarcophagus of St. Euphemia, church authorities decided to build a larger church in the 10th century. The present-day church of St. Euphemia was built between 1725 and 1736 in the Baroque-Venetian style.
